barnsideHello and welcome to the home of Tannu British Shorthair Cats. My name is Lynne and I have been breeding pedigree cats for more than 20 years and started with a pair of Burmese I bought as pets hoping to breed my first litter. Unfortunately, this did not happen with my first female.
I made a lot of enquiries to find out where I was going wrong and that's how I met Penny Bydlinski, a very experienced breeder. As a result of our discussions, I bought my first breeding queen, Penric Donna.
Donna was shown a couple of times but there was a major problem. She hated it! However, what she lacked in showmanship she made up for by producing some really beautiful kittens and that was the start of my Burmese line.
After I had showed my Burmese cats a couple of times, I fell in love with the British Tipped breed and just had to have one. I eventually located a local breeder and bought Polo who again produced some wonderful babies.
The tipped lines have been diminishing over the years but I consider luck was on my side when I met Kay & Richard Merrell. They made it possible for me to become the proud owner of Fentiger Goodwill Hunting, lovingly known as William.
William's show career has been exemplary - he was nominated and selected as best in show on several occasions and is now a U.K. Grand Champion. He has his own house where he can entertain his ladies and he has sired some very beautiful kittens, in all cases passing on his superb bone structure and dense coat.
My next acquisition was Daviot Angharad, a.k.a. Grace, my first British Blue - a cat with the most incredible eye colour and sound coat that she has since passed on to all her kittens. Her first litter arrived just after midnight on New Year's Eve, 2001 giving her kittens a unique birth date ~ 01. 01. 01.
Tannu Newday Dawning (Evie) was a big baby, weighing 4 pounds at only ten weeks old. She inherited her mother's incredible coat and eye colour and the bone from her father, GRCH Positively Llew Glas.
I was left with no option. I just had to keep her! Evie is also a Champion but she has retired for a while to concentrate on her maternal duties.Tia and Tahlia, blue girls from Evie and Grace extend the family and have themselves began their maternal duties!

Barnside is also the home of our very popular Luxery boarding cattery. Please click the link below to visit the site.
